About Us

SPOOLNIVA helps makers understand filament stock and plan printing work.

A clearer view of the material you have

SPOOLNIVA is a browser-based workbench for FDM and FFF printing. It connects spool measurement, cost estimation and project reservations in one local workflow. The aim is to make the assumptions visible before a long print or small order begins.

The workbench is intended for hobbyists, makers and small 3D printing workshops that need a practical material plan without an account. The eight tools cover remaining spool weight, weight and length conversion, single-print checks, multicolor waste, printing costs, batch requirements, project planning and inventory records.

What guides the tools

Every estimate uses explicit inputs and a documented formula. Material reference densities can be changed. A reservation never pretends to be actual use, and mixed currency values are never silently converted.

A slicer estimate is a planning input, not a measurement of a finished print. Supports, purge, printer settings and material variation can change consumption. Cost results depend on the prices, electricity rates and other expenses you enter; they are not a promise of profit. Review the method and limits on each tool page, and use the guides and worked examples to understand the assumptions before applying a result.

Photography and worked examples

Workshop and filament photographs are licensed from Pexels. They provide visual context and do not document tests performed by SPOOLNIVA. Worked examples use stated assumptions. SPOOLNIVA does not claim endorsement by printer, filament or slicer manufacturers.

Designed for individual workspaces

No account is required. Inventory belongs to the browser where it was entered. Exportable backups allow you to keep a separate copy or transfer a workspace. SPOOLNIVA does not claim to predict every cause of print failure.

The inventory manager holds spool details and stock corrections. The project planner assigns reservations against compatible stock: reserving material does not deduct physical weight. Completing a project records the actual consumption you confirm and releases its reservations; cancelling releases reservations without adding stock.

Inventory and project records are stored in IndexedDB for this website in your browser. The application does not upload those records or synchronize them between browsers or devices. Export a JSON backup before moving a workspace; restoring a validated backup replaces local records only after confirmation. Browser cleanup, storage eviction or device loss can remove records, so keep a separate backup. See the Privacy Policy for local files and website-delivery details, and the Terms of Service for use and calculation limits.
