Plan Filament for 20 Printed Parts

Scenario

A small order requires twenty identical brackets.

Inputs and assumptions

35 g per bracket; 20 brackets; allowance 10%; stock 460 g; purchase spool 1000 g.

Calculation steps

  1. Demand = 35 × 20 × 1.10 = 770 g.
  2. Gap = 770 − 460 = 310 g.
  3. Purchase count = ceil(310 ÷ 1000).

Result

Buy one spool; planned consumption is 770 g.

Limits

This assumes the parts can be split into jobs. It does not promise one uninterrupted 770 g print on the existing spool.
