Calculate the Full Cost of a Small Print Order

Scenario

An illustrative order contains four accepted parts.

Inputs and assumptions

Total material 200 g at USD 25/kg; 120 W for 8 h at USD .25/kWh; equipment USD .50/h; labor USD 12; other USD 3.

Calculation steps

  1. Material = USD 5; electricity = USD .24; equipment = USD 4.
  2. Batch = 5 + .24 + 4 + 12 + 3 = USD 24.24.
  3. Unit = 24.24 ÷ 4 = USD 6.06.
  4. 20% markup: 24.24 × 1.20 = 29.088; 20% margin: 24.24 ÷ .80 = 30.30.

Result

USD 24.24 batch cost; USD 6.06 per part. Batch prices: USD 29.09 markup or USD 30.30 target margin.

Limits

Prices exclude any tax or selling fee not entered. Rounding may affect invoice totals.
